Restaurant: Corrib Pub, Brookline, MA

The Corrib Pub is the kind of place you'd go to all the time if you were a group of friends in a sitcom (HIMYM!). It's cozy, not too crowded, and is generally a great place to grab a quick beer or dinner. The crowd tends to be somewhat older than at other bars in the Coolidge Corner area.

Potato skins
My friends and I first stumbled into this pub a few years back, and quickly discovered that the drinks were strong and reasonably priced.

The food here is mostly just standard pub-style food. However, a couple menu items really stand out and are worth a special mention: the lobster roll and the prime rib. Both items were on the Friday weekly special menu.
Lobster roll
The lobster roll is classic--but stuffed to the brim with gorgeous, lightly seasoned, high quality chunks of lobster.

Prime rib with veggies
The prime rib is amazingly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It was missing a lot of the normal fixings (horseradish, etc) but still worth it. I've had this entree here twice recently, and it is never disappointing. The prime rib was served with corn, the "vegetable of the day", and a giant baked potato.
