Restaurant: Uni Sashimi Bar, Boston, MA

Hey look, words!

Recently, my husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary, which we obviously used as an excuse to try some expensive food. My neighbor had recommended Uni Sashimi Bar, which is in the Eliot Hotel, as one of his favorites. We decided to try the Omakase menu (chef's choice).

Alcohol-free "martini" with a tomato "Popsicle"
Overall, the food was lovely. The courses were nicely timed and came out in small portions. The entire experience took close to 3 hours. (Only some of the courses are pictured in this post.)
Uni with quail egg, caviar
The courses were all amazing and unique. Although the fish flavor was somewhat overpowered by the rest of the food, the taste overall was exquisite. An absolutely wonderful mix of flavors.
Different portions of sashimi. The bite to the right was gorgeous and fatty.
Raw fish with mushrooms (?)
The only downside was that as we marveled at the wonderful multi-level flavors, we sat only inches away from the couple at the next table and about a foot away from a family at dinner. The atmosphere is quaint, but the tables were a little too close together for my tastes.
One of two desserts--including ovely black sesame rice cakes and house-made sorbet.
If you happen to have something to celebrate or a few hundred extra dollars lying around (haha), I'd definitely recommend a trip to Uni.
